Lose Weight - Slim Fast and Biking!

We've been going at this pretty seriously since June 1. We rode a little in the spring but not enough to make much difference. My goal was to ride 500 miles this summer. I'm going to have to boost that because I am about to reach it!!! I am at 497! WOW! I never thought I would even come close. We bike to the nearest town which is about 30 mile round trip. There is a shorter way on a very busy highway so we go through the country on the blacktop. Then we go to Hardee's for lunch because it is the closest restaurant! We also ride to the farm and then just out and around the county. Whenever we hit gravel we turn or go back where we came from. It limits us a little, but not too bad. It gives us a chance to see how the corn and beans are growing compared to ours. We even saw a deer a couple of times, a pair of foxes, and of course a couple of skunks. Once we picked up a dog who followed us clear into town. We had to turn around and take him home. The next time we rode by, he listened to us and stayed home!

In July I began to take the weight thing seriously. Two Slim Fasts a day and regular supper. (plus biking or walking or working in the garden and yard every day) I know Slim Fast isn't the greatest thing in the world, but it works for me. We are about to go on a cruise to Alaska and I am NOT going to drink it there. I might eat one of the candy bars for breakfast on the plane! But that is it! I have lost about 12 pounds so far. I need to lose 10 more before school starts. Doubt I make it with the cruise in there, but at least some of my clothes fit me again!
