August 13, 2008.....It's been 36 years since that day in 1972! What a great 36 years it has been! Seems like a long time until you think about the couples that have been married 60 or more years! Jan says we'll still be riding our bikes then. I'm not so sure!
The Rock Island ride was on the 12th. For our anniversary we were going to ride to Monmouth and back - 32 miles. I thought I could do it. It was a beautiful day! But I was too tired. We rode about 7 miles and I knew I would never get there AND back, so we turned around. Fourteen miles was enough. The company was good, my legs just wouldn't do it.
After a shower we got in the car and went to Macomb to develop pictures, eat and go to the auto store. It was a good evening! I hope we get to that 60 mark! And maybe we'll get to Monmouth on a different night!
